2 Women Hospitalized In Waterbury Hit-Run Crash; 1 In Critical Condition: Police

A Connecticut woman clings to life as her friend is treated for serious injuries after a car crashed into them and other parked vehicles before running away, police said.

A 21- and 22-year-woman were struck around 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, as they walked near 38 Walnut Ave. in Waterbury, authorities said. 

An initial investigation found the car slammed into the women and the other vehicles before the driver jumped out and sprinted away, Waterbury Police said. 

Paramedics rushed the two women to an area hospital where the 22-year-old was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The 21-year-old remains hospitalized but is in stable condition. 

Authorities did not release their names.
